Templates

Templates form the body of the email you send to your contacts via your campaigns, transactional emails and automations. Templates allow you to standardize communications to your contacts and showcase your brand identity - the Transpond Brand Analyzer makes easy work of styling your templates to match your brand. 

Transpond has a gallery of stunning templates for every occasion to help you quickly and easily create engaging email content. You can easily design stunning, mobile friendly email templates via the Drag and Drop editor or if you want to create something custom for your audience you can import your own HTML code to create a template.

Create a template using the Transpond Drag and Drop editor

The Transpond Drag and Drop editor allows you to create visually stunning email templates in no time at all. Transpond has a gallery of templates you can choose from - once you have chosen the most suitable template, you can drag and drop different elements within the template or insert additional elements such as images, social media icons and buttons as well as interactive elements like countdowns or polls.

Here's how to get started adding your first Drag and Drop template.

Click on the Templates section at the top of the screen.

On this page you can see and manage any templates you have previously created. For now click the  Add Template button

Click the  Start Designing button under the Drag and Drop option

A new screen will load, where you can select to create a new template from scratch, or browse the pre-made themes. For now lets have a look at the Themes by clicking the Themes link.

Have a look through the available themes, and when you find one that takes your fancy, click it to start editing.

After a few seconds the template editor will load up and the theme you selected will appear. You can now start editing. 

Note: The first time you load the drag and drop editor, a brief wizard will appear that guides you through the basics.. Just incase you skipped it here's a recap of how the drag/drop works...

  • Name: You can type a name for your template here. This is just for your reference.
  • Elements: Click and drag these "Elements" onto the stage. They are things like Images, Text, Buttons, Videos etc.
  • Click any elements on the stage to edit them. For example click an image to open the file manager and add a new image, or click text to edit it.
  • Use the tools at the top of the page to send a preview, check links or to save and continue.
  • Use the Elements drop down menu on the left to switch between:
    • Elements - Items that go onto the template such as text, buttons, videos etc.
    • Blocks - Pre made blocks of elements for example GDPR confirmation forms, galleries, etc.
    • Layouts - Layouts hold elements. Drag layouts such as single column, 2 column, 3 column, etc and then drag elements into them.
    • Style - Here you can change the overall look and feel of your template. Things like fonts, colors and sizes.

Transpond Brand Analyzer

Incorporating your brand visual identity into your email marketing helps your audience form a stronger relationship with your brand and adds authenticity to your content. The Transpond Brand Analyzer tool takes all the hard work out of creating email content that showcases your organization’s branding.

Go to Templates at the top of the screen.

Click + Add Template button towards the top right of the screen and then click Start Designing button under the Drag and Drop option

Select the Branded theme and then chose an appropriate template.

The Transpond Brand Analyzer wizard will guide you through the steps and pull in your company logo and color schemes to create a number of pre-made themes as well as pulling in company details such as social media links and contact information.
The Brand Analyzer tool can be re-run at any time you make changes to your company branding by going to the Account Menu > Company Profile > then click Re-run Brand Analyzer.

 

Create a template using the Transpond Wysiwyg editor

If you are looking to design a "traditional" style email then the drag and drop editor may not be the easiest solution. 

Introducing the WYSIWYG editor. A Microsoft Word style editor that enables you to construct basic email templates in a more traditional way.

Here's how to create your first Wysiwyg template...

Go to Templates at the top of the screen.

Click + Add Template button towards the top right of the screen and then select Start Editing next to Wysiwyg Editor

With the Wysiwyg Editor loaded, you can type directly into the big white space, and use the Microsoft Word style tools towards the top to change the content. For example adjusting the font size, color, insert links etc.

Use the Preview button to check how your template will look on desktop, tablets and mobile devices. You can send a test email to yourself or a colleague and you can view the email as a recipient for different Groups.

Once you are happy with your template click Save & Continue. You will now be able to use your Template in future Campaigns.

Create a template from HTML

If you have experience designing and creating great email templates using your own software or you have obtained a HTML template you would like to use in Transpond you can do so by writing/importing your code.

Go to Templates at the top of the screen.

Click + Add Template button towards the top right of the screen and then select Start Coding next to From Code

With the Code Editor loaded, the page is split into two sections. The large area on the left shows the final result of your HTML, the right hand side enables you to paste your HTML or make any changes.

Use the Preview button to check how your template will look on desktop, tablets and mobile devices. You can send a test email to yourself or a colleague and you can view the email as a recipient for different Groups.

Once you are happy with your template click Save & Continue. You will now be able to use your Template in future Campaigns.

How to import a template from a different Transpond account

If you have an email template you'd like to share with a different Transpond account you can do so in just a couple of clicks.

The first step is to get the code for the template you would like to share. To do this go to Templates at the top of the screen.

Click the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner of the template preview for the template you wish to share and select Share.

A drawer will open on the right of the screen, here you will see an alphanumeric code. Click to copy the code. You can now give the code to the person in the other account.

In the second Transpond account the user should go to strong>Templates at the top of the screen. Click + Add Template button towards the top right of the screen and then select Get Advanced next to Advanced.

Click Import under Import Existing. Enter the alphanumeric code in the required field along with a name for the template. Finally you can chose to add the template to a Template Group if you wish.

Once your template has been imported you will be able to make any changes you need to via the template editor and then your template will be ready to use in future campaigns.

How to import a template from your Mailchimp campaigns

You can easily import the templates you have used in previous Mailchimp campaigns for use within Transpond.

The first step will be to connect Transpond to your Mailchimp account. To do this click on your profile image in the top right of the screen and select Integrations, click + Add integration then click View/Install under Mailchimp.

Follow the instructions on screen to connect Mailchimp.

With Mailchimp connected click Select Campaigns under Templates. 

Here you will be able to see your sent campaigns from Mailchimp. You can click to view and then import the template used in the campaign. Once the template has been imported you will be able to make any changes you need to via the template editor and then your template will be ready to use in future campaigns.
